Cosy Christmas!

Cosy Christmas!

Christmas can mean different things to different people, the gift of giving, faith and religion, family, good food.

For us here at Retrospecced…we love a Christmas jumper - second only to a classic spectacle frame of course! (Shop our awesome range here).

So to celebrate this we have gathered our favourite styles of Christmas jumpers all of which have an ethical / eco friendly twist. What’s not to love? Get that 80’s look… Want to look like you’re an extra in Wham’s “Last Christmas” music video? We’re glad it’s not just us. We found ours at vintage resale site www.BeyondRetro.com however you can also source a beauty like this is a your local Charity shop or market. £29.99 Keep it Simple… If loud prints and patterns are not your thing, then this maybe the jumper for you. It is still a festive colour, but more of an understated number. This particular one is made by &daughter - a brand that works with British and Irish artisans to individually make each garment. Something that will definitely last many Christmases to come. £295 Disney Classic… Because there’s a kid in all of us! This 90’s Mickey Mouse jolly jumper is a winner. What’s even better about it is that it's ‘vintage’ so you’re saving clothes from landfill and still satisfying the lust for that new Christmas jumper. Whilst it is not necessarily “new” its “new” to you - the beauty of upcycling! We sourced this one from Etsy. £27.07 I got it from my Nana… The infamous 3D knitted jumper has often had a bad rep – cast your minds to that famous Bridget Jones scene. But we believe it's time to welcome the novelty jumper with open arms. Especially when your Nana, or someone else’s, has actually knitted it! We searched the site Not on the highstreet for independent retailers selling novelty Christmas jumpers and came across this beauty. Who said stockings are just for the mantelpiece. £27 Sparkle Sensation Who doesn’t love a bit of seasonal sparkle? These knits can often contain synthetic threads or plastic sequins in order to get that much loved glitz. But there are brands out there that make sure that this search for glamour doesn’t dull its eco friendly sparkle. This jumper is made from merino wool and from Brora. The brand make a promise that where they can they make sure that sheep are farm reared and shearing is carried out in a humane way. £149 So, there's no excuse not to wrap up all cosy this festive season! Match your new jumper to your upcycled Retrospecs (shop here!), and tag us in the photos please - we love to see them! Don't forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date!
